The LenSx Laser
The LenSx Laser is a femtosecond laser that can be used during cataract surgery to create all of the incisions and break apart the cataract. Femtosecond technology incorporates image guided laser treatments to increase the reproducibility and precision of surgery. Femtosecond lasers have been used in refractive surgeries for years and now patients have the option of choosing a computer controlled cataract laser to take care of the most critical steps of the cataract surgery procedure.
How Does it Work
The LenSx laser replaces the traditional handheld blades to optimize incisions for precise and accurate surgical performance. It uses integrated optical coherence tomography (OCT) to capture high resolution images of your eye. Your surgeon uses these images to customize the corneal incisions and all lens incisions for your surgery. The LenSx laser then creates these incisions with femtosecond precision in under a minute.
