“It was the day after my cataract surgery. I was sitting on the sofa looking out the window. It was a very dreary winter day- everything outside was brown, black and grey. That’s when I saw it, a bright red cardinal far off in the trees. I remember the red shone so bright - I could see it so clearly! It was amazing. I know it is such a little thing, but it was absolutely earth-moving for me.”

I remember I got my first pair of glasses when I was 7 - the whole world opened up to me. Grains in cement. Individual leaves on the trees. It was outrageously wonderful. Being a visual learner I found it to be a revelation to see so clearly - I've been wearing glasses for almost my entire life.

I was a teacher for 30 years. It was when I was in my 40’s when it happened. I was teaching at a highschool when I fight broke out among students. I attempted to get in the middle and took the first punch to my face. Because of the damage done my right eye had to be removed. It was from that moment on that I grew terrified to lose my sight out of my one good eye. I was really alerted to the value of vision.

I have been extremely careful about my vision and meticulous about getting good medical care for my eyes since losing my left eye. The past few years I began to experience symptoms of a cataract and knew that it was time to look into getting it removed.

Having work done on my eye was a serious decision - it was my only good eye! But when it came time to decide which doctor I would go to for my surgery there wasn’t any question - I had to go to Dr. Moyes. When surgery rolled around I was suprised with how fast, quick, and easy it was.

I rememember, it was the day after my cataract surgery. I was sitting on the sofa looking out the window. It was a very dreary winter day- everything outside was brown, black and grey. That’s when I saw it, a bright red cardinal far off in the trees. I remember the red shone so bright - I could see it so clearly! It was amazing. I know it is such a little thing but it was absolutely earth-moving for me.

I feel so lucky and thankful to Dr. Moyes. I’ve been in a lot of doctors' offices in my life, I mean I’m 73, but I was so impressed with the professionalism at Moyes Eye Center. For me it was an excellent experience. The result was immediate and I couldn’t have been happier.

I can't even begin to describe the relief I feel to have finally done it and experience such great results. The worry is gone - it is such a relief to have it behind me and to have such amazing results. I mean I am not going to be in the Olympics or anything now, but It reassures me to continue living life. The security it provides and really the joy in the little things that vision provides. And it really is the little things that mean so much to me.

“About 30 minutes after surgery I could see 20/20 which was incredible. I knew that this quick procedure was life changing for me and would make such a difference in my job and everyday life. I wake up and can see immediately, no grabbing the glasses. I don't have to worry about dry contacts, or glasses smudging. Vision is such a precious gift and I’m so grateful Moyes made mine better and easier!”

I'm a mom of 2 precious kids, Leona (8) and Warren (5). I'm not only a busy mom, but also a photographer for my business, Willow Photo and event director for a local non-profit organization, The Global Orphan Project.

Before surgery, I was having a lot of issues with my contacts. When pregnant with my son, my eyes started to dry out and not be able to wear contacts as much.

Because of this dryness, I was wearing my glasses most of the time. Not only was I not a big fan of glasses, but it was difficult to take photos with my camera and not smudge my glasses. After realizing that my eyes would probably not adjust to contact again, we began to look into the possibility of Lasik.

For us, choosing Moyes was an easy decision. Not only is Dr. Moyes a sweet family friend, and advocate for The Global Orphan Project, but he's a brilliant doctor. I knew I would be in amazing hands with his knowledge and amazing team at Moyes. I was so impressed by how comforting they make you feel, how beautiful their facility is and how they want their patients to feel fully educated on the procedure.

About 30 minutes after surgery I could see 20/20 which was incredible. I knew that this quick procedure was life changing for me and would make such a difference in my job and everyday life.

Now, a few years after surgery I am so grateful for that decision to get this procedure done. I wake up and can see immediately, no grabbing the glasses. I don't have to worry about dry contacts, or glasses smudging. Vision is such a precious gift and I am so grateful that Moyes made mine better and easier!
