Meleha Ahmad, M.D., MSc is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids, tear drainage system, bones and contents of the orbit around the eye, and the face. Dr. Ahmad joined Moyes Eye Center after completing an Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship with University of California, San Francisco. She received her medical degree from New York University Grossman School of Medicine in New York City and completed her Ophthalmology residency at Wilmer- Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Ahmad was raised in Karachi, Pakistan, spending summers in her mother’s hometown of Baxter Springs, Kansas. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering at Brown University. After working for a year at a pain management clinic in Brooklyn, she started medical school at NYU School of Medicine in New York City where she completed a dual MD/MSc in Translational Research. During her third year of medical school, she discovered the fascinating world of Ophthalmology, which was the perfect mixture of engineering and medicine. She moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where she did her residency at Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. There, she fell in love with the creativity and tangibility of Oculoplastics which led her to pursue an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) fellowship at University of California, San Francisco.
