Dr. Yong Kam is a board-certified ophthalmic surgeon with specialized expertise in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery. During his fellowship, Dr. Kam was honored with the P.J. Leinfelder Award for Excellence in Research, recognizing his contributions to the field.
Dr. Kam is certified in EVO ICL (Evolution Implantable Collamer Lens), focusing on advanced vision correction techniques. This innovative procedure involves implanting a Collamer lens to address nearsightedness and astigmatism.
He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where he was distinguished with the inaugural Nellie V. Warren Rising Star Award. Dr. Kam, a native of the Kansas City area, earned his Bachelor of Science in Cell Biology from the University of Kansas. He subsequently obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, where he was also a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
